Why were my payments applied late when I have an online bill payment service and the funds were deducted from my account on the fifth of the month?

The bill payment service withdraws the amount due from your account and sends a check to Flagstar Bank. This process may take approximately two weeks before the check posts to your account.

Where should my mortgage payment be sent if I don't have a mortgage coupon?

Payments without a mortgage coupon should be mailed to:

Why was my mortgage sold to another lending institution?

The transfer and sale of mortgages is common in the mortgage industry. It fulfills the need of investors and makes funds available for other homebuyers.

How do I know if I qualify for a home loan?

Your best option is a home loan preapproval—an evaluation of your credit worthiness based on your income, assets, debts and past credit use.
